Capturing Summer Evenings - Memoir Monday

Ice rattled in the glass as I sat in my coolest summer pajamas watching the mixing and melding of flavors as the different liquids were poured and swirled.

Glasses set side by side, the two of us would touch and talk.  we would laugh and connect after long days.

The glasses would sweat as we would exchange  smiles - savoring each moment of the evening.

Sounds of the air conditioners and crickets crept in through the open windows along with any summer breeze that happened by.

I sat.  he stood.  We talked.

For those moments on those summer nights, the world disappeared around us leaving just two.  Two people sharing their lives.

Cherished memories; cherished intimacy.

Love it! Especially the first paragraph.

I'm suddenly craving a Manhattan (brown liquor)... http://dadshouseblog.com/2008/10/09/manhattan-cocktail-recipe/
