5 Days

That's right, 5 days until the day.

My big day.

One year ends while another begins!

In five days I will, officially be, kind of middle aged.

A friend sent me an e-mail yesterday asking "Any big birthday plans?"

Short answer is, no.  I know that I do not intend to work.  A day off, for my birthday, is just what I need.

But, other than that, I have no plans.

I reserved a man to come and do some "fixing" of my house through the month of September...  but, well, I think he chickened out.  Too much work to be accomplished - not up for all the drilling and screwing that needed to be completed.  ;)

A few years ago I gave myself a mid-life crisis for my birthday.  Granted, I figured that it would be a 20 year mid-life crisis.  When men have them they buy great cars, find great flings, and have a truly great time.

My mid-life crisis is not working out as well.  I am still looking for the great fling, don't truly need the great car, and although I am always having fun, a greater fun has not been found.

I attempted to recruit one of my coworkers to find me a boy toy.  My coworker is a great guy, lots of fun, we have much to discuss/laugh about.

But when he told me that a boy toy would require financial backing.... well, I wasn't truly up for putting my money where my mouth is.  After all, I am a woman, I should be able to get a boy toy simply because I am brainy, fun, creative, and... well, I have a great chest!

Yet, another birthday is drawing near.

I have no idea what I will be doing for my birthday, but...

I am open for suggestions!

Oh and the 'brainy, fun, creative, and... well, I have a great chest!' should be able to land you any guy you want. You had me at brainy and fun.

Hmmm 5 days. Boy toy. My suggestion since there is not a lot of time. I would say find a place that has free salsa lessons. I tell you it is a guy driven dance. ALWAYS less women. If you are attractive you will fall above the women who know how to dance. Guys will be all over you and you can have your pick.

You're going to be 45?

So she reveals her birthday...

I don't think the man chickened out. You know, a good fixer of sorts needs a certain amount of planning and preparation before drilling and screwing begin. Total confusion can ensue if one tries to fix when not concentrating on the task at hand, which is what I am sure you deserve. Good fixing begins with well laid plans, and a clear head ;)

I had a quiet birthday this year and quite enjoyed it. Maybe a new adventure with the Diva?

I'm trying to think if I know how old you are!

Doesn't matter anyway. You don't look a day over 25!

And women never pay for boys. Not even boy toys!

Meow.

Have a quarter-life crisis this time ;-)

MC - I intend to enjoy it!!! Just am not quite sure how? ;)

It is nice to know that a man is attracted to brains and fun; you are a rare find!

Mike - Now, that sounds fun... seriously, more men than women?

M@ - 45? Yeah, in just under a decade! ;)

Scotty - Yes, you are correct. I don't think that he understood that September was my month either. Thus, I am sure that I will give him a second chance to do the job once he has compiled his materials and is ready to give it his all!

The Diva will be in school... it is just me.

Teri - You are right, but then again, I don't think anyone should have to pay for it. Thanks - in that picture I probably don't look a day over 25! ;)

Kenneth - Now, that's an idea....;)What Do I get for a quarter life crisis? Hum....

Well laid plans! Love it!

I'm 47 and I love every minute of it! Can't wait to be fifty! :)

I do drive a little red sports car. A convertible. But it has 218,000 miles on it!

Enjoy your birthday, babe. And I hope you get all those things fixed. I mean, according to the picture, you need some.. ahem.. assistance!

That's what every woman I tell says. I don't know how it is other places, but that is the way it is here. The normal dance places are like everywhere else. Why salsa is this way I don't know.

Hey everyone is talking about your picture. Did I miss something?

Please post pic.

It's a secret picture that she shared only with me so that I could lust after her hot bod!

Damn...I must have missed the great fling...when did they hand them out? I do have a nice truck though and for my birthday I did absolutely nothing but I too had the day off....we may be clones lol

The boy toy thing is all good... every woman should have one. But ya got to be careful. My girlfriend had one, and she ended up marrying him...

Not sure how that all happened.

Jewelery. As expensive as you can afford, even if you have to get in debt to do so.

Thats my tip.

Another reason I like you is that you were born on my father's birthday. He's the one from whom I think I inherited my libedo. You don't need any advice darling, just go with your instincts.

Buy something nice for yourself ... nice and ridiculously expensive. You deserve it! And go out and have fun!!

What? Finding a boy-toy has to involve becoming a sugar-momma? Puh-lease: you're waaaay too good for that!

Teri - Thanks. Assistance would be... nice!

Mike - I will have to check it out. Do you Salsa? And no, you didn't miss anything.

Scotty - Why so big on seeing my picture? ;)

Teri - This was funny.

Scorpy - A nice truck and doing nothing - hey, that sounds like a nice birthday. the fling is icing on the cake... or the cherry on top of the sundae (at least one hopes)

And you, my friend, do not look old enough to have entered mid life!!

Ryan - Ok, I no longer want a boy toy!!! (well, unless there is another one like you out there!) (Of if the man who took my reservation decides to... honor it! ;) )

Steph - Jewelry - I don't need a birthday to go in debt buying myself jewelry... sapphires are an exceptional best friend!

Spellbound - it is a great day to be born!! My dad and I share a birthday, which is kind of fun.

I am good at following my instincts! Happy Birthday to your dad.

Airam - I am in the process of doing just that! Very exciting!

Carrie - Which is exactly why I do not yet have one!! ;)

3 times a week. That's where I met CPA girl. There are plenty of free places out there.

am curious, what exactly is "middle aged" these days?

maybe I qualify and just diodnb't now? *shudder*

and I whooleheartedly agree that you deserve a boy toy based solely on your, um, merrits

Mike - Sounds like fun!

Kathryn - I have no clue when middle age is which is why I gave myself twenty years for the mid life crisis... I am sure I will have hit middle age by the time I am 55!
