I Need A Nap (Updated)

Today I am home.

I am washing my third load of laundry and attempting to figure out what to feed the Diva who is simply not herself. After a night of little sleep and lots of bacteria, we are both completely depleted; our energy is spent.

One of the hardest parts of being a parent, is having a sick kid. It doesn't matter the age of the child, it is hard to see my vivacious and energetic/always moving child turn into a body, lying on the floor (her choice) trying to fight an illness.

Last night, as the bug invaded her body, she informed me that her body was under attack from bacteria. She needed to rest so her white cells could fight back. As an observer of the battle that took place into the wee hours of the morning, I can say that her body put up a valiant fight and finally repelled the enemy!

And now she is tired. We are tired.

While she rests and watches TV, I plan to catch up on posts that I have missed, do some writing that I was unable to do over the holidays, and watch the sun spread its healing warmth and brightness through our house.

Perhaps we needed a day off; a day that didn't involve family or traveling or schedules. It is time to make the most of the day and the ability to stay warm and cozy inside.

Maybe I will also be able to take a much needed (and desired) nap!

* The Diva was back to her normal self when she woke on Friday morning - oh to be a kid again. I will need a few more days to fully recuperate!

It sucks when your kids are sick, hope Diva feels better in a jiffy.

Mmmm....how do you make being sick sound so pleasant?

I want to come take a nap at your house. :)

Isn't it crazy how everyone is sick right now? Yuuuucky....

Even as an adult I still want my mom to take care of me.

Have a good nap and I hope she feels better!

I feel like I need a day to do absolutely nothing, since I wasnt able to do so during the holidays.

If I come over I want a nap, no fixing things. For a little bit anyways ;)

I find that drinking a 12 pack and running naked through the snow usually brings me round

Tonight, Grammy (me), the little guy (grandson Kurtis) and the princess (granddaughter Maya) are all feeling under the weather for various reasons. Gram and little guy have nasty head colds -getting better but too slow a process - and the princess is totally engrossed in a meltdown because her Mommie and Daddy went out for a while and that, in her book, is a no-no! You are so right though about how difficult it is when one of your little ones is under the weather -or not pleased with the current events -or both. Here's hoping tomorrow finds the Diva back to her shining star self and you having had a little time to recuperate and regroup yourself too. A little rest is a good thing ya know.

Hang in there and my best get well wishes to you and the Diva. My twins and I went through what you are going through a week ago and it wasn't fun. I hope to read that you both are better soon!
