Points to Ponder

What is the connection between marriage and monogamy?

Do they always go together - or is it an ideal contained in the marriage vows?

Does monogamy only refer to sex?

A few points I am pondering following a conversation I had last night.

Every marriage is different. Mine will have to be monogamous, for several reasons.

I usually think of monogamy and relationships. Doesn't have to be sexual. I knew a guy who wasn't having sex with other women, but he use to spend a lot of time with them. His wife was not too happy about that he would rather spend time with someone else.

in my world monogamy and marriage go hand in hand, though of course you can have monogamy without marriage but absoluteky not marriage without monogamy

and no, monogamy is not only about teh physical or sex part - sometimes the cerebral/emotional affairs are far worse than the physical

Perhaps it's old fashioned, but I think Marriage and Monogamy become the same thing once marriage has been entered into.

I dont think monogamy goes only with sex, it can encompass a lot.. or a little.

Hmmm... do two people in a relationship have to have the same definition of monogamy?
