October, Already?

What happened to September?

It seems like just yesterday school started, ballet started, and life became a bit more busy.  Apparently all that happened more than three weeks ago and, well, it simply doesn't seem like things have settled into a relaxed routine!

September simply can't be over yet.  I am not ready!

September is a month that I love.  Not only are there lots of fun birthdays in September, but the weather turns as close to perfect as it can be.  There is time to enjoy activities outside without the humidity and the heat.  Nights are cool and crisp - perfect for sleeping.

September is a month of change as summer activities end and school activities begin.  Life returns to a manageable schedule....  at least that is what I thought.

This September has been crazy!

School started, ballet started, birthdays were celebrated, more ballet started, dentist appointments were attended, orthodontist appointments were kept, ears were pierced (not mine), shopping was undertaken, and a fall festival was enjoyed.

But there is so much I didn't do.  So much that was supposed to happen and... well, it didn't!

I have yet to get my hair cut.  This is something that needed to happen weeks ago and yet, time didn't permit.  A friend commented Friday that I might as well forget it now as it has gone beyond shaggy to just "growing out."  Thrilling.

I have yet to deposit checks in the bank - checks that I have had for about three weeks now.  Now I might as well wait a few more weeks so that I can deposit several at one time!

And I still have not adjusted to this new ballet schedule... all the running and making things happen.

And yet, it is now October.  September has slipped through my fingers leaving me with a list of things that I have yet to do.    Including that audio post!!  (I did it, but... it is much more difficult than I had anticipated!)

I hope that October will offer great surprises in that I will be able to catch my breath, relax into a schedule of sorts, and enjoy the fall.  I would like to spend time reading, creating the Diva's birthday present, doing some baking, enjoying the changes outside etc...  But, somehow I don't think it will happen like that.  I have a feeling that the introduction of Nutcracker rehersals, preparations for Halloween, and life in general will leave me wondering how October could fly by so quickly...!

I think, for whatever reason, September was like this for just about everyone! And Nutcracker- wow, I might as well start the Christmas shopping.

we are coming up to our summer and daylight savings starts next week. i feel like last summer has just finished, - maybe because we had a relatively warm winter.
