I love light, fluffy powdery snow that floats through the air and shines like diamonds in the sun.
I love late days allowing tired dancers time to sleep in before they dawn their snowsuits and boots and trek through the snow to school...
I love having the time for said dancers to stop and play in the snow, examining tracks, tasting the white stuff, and even building a few angels along the way.
I love running into the neighborhood retired greyhound who happily greets us with a hop and a happy howl!
I love the vivid and cloudless blue skies that emphasize the whiteness of the snow, the brightness of the sun, and the sparkle of the crystals that decorate the trees.
And I love capturing it all with my camera and sharing it with the world... (even though I didn't capture all of these things...)
(Oh, and I love that by tomorrow, the sidewalks and roads will be ice free because that is how late fall and late spring storms work!)

Wonderful pictures! Thanks for sharing:)
Brookem - Thanks... I am sure you have much more snow than do we!! ;)
Such a cute set of photos! Love 'em!
Wow :) Is that the Diva in there?
Maybe you should have a 'winter' header ;)
Bre - Thanks!
Scotty - Yes, that is herself! I am not ready to change to winter quite yet!!
Not enough to sleep in though.
The older I get, the more arthritic too, the more I dislike snow. However, that being said, we had our first little snow with about an inch or two on the ground about 2 weeks ago now I think it was. The day stayed grey and very overcast -downright ugly really -almost all day. But late in the afternoon, I had to make a run to the local grocery store to pick up my Sunday paper (so I could take care of my addiction to the stupid Sunday crossword puzzle ya know) and on my way home, there was a tiny peak of sun-very tiny- that glistened off the snow on the trees so lovingly. And it was so pretty, it erased all my yucky feelings earlier about how much I dislike snow!
Dave - Okay, good point! ;)
Jeni - Thanks for stopping by. Today as beautiful - sun and blue sky and snow. Today is as you described - gray and spitting and just not very nice. I loved the snow yesterday and today would have preferred to stay in.
It is amazing how quickly our thoughts can change... and how it just takes a little thing to make the weather beautiful over drab - sometimes just a little light needs to be shed on the subject! ;)
Loved the pics.
Funny that I don't think of such things when I think of DC. Unless, you found the ONLY wooded lot with snow. :P
It is now officially evening, 5:30 p.m., on Sunday. How'd it go?
